After I Fell into the Demonic Path, My Archrival Became My Dao Companion

[BL romance | Unhinged, possessive top × pure-hearted, steadfast bottom | High-tension bond]

The Demon Venerable Ye Jin had lived for over ten thousand years and was bored out of his mind. Then he found a pitiful little thing with an astonishingly pure soul beside a boundary stele: A Heng.

The little guy had lost all his memories and had very little cultivation, yet he was a natural genius who worked harder at cultivation than demon cultivators did at causing trouble. Amused, Ye Jin took him in as his one and only disciple on a whim. He meant to raise him and watch his progress for a laugh, but ended up falling into his own trap.

He taught A Heng demonic cultivation techniques, but A Heng trained with the serene, ascetic air of an immortal sect disciple. When people provoked him, he knocked them down one by one, fiercely protective of those he cared about. And while staying up late to cultivate, he would secretly save the best pills for his “unreliable master.”

Ye Jin went from “watching for fun” to “let’s see you try touching my disciple,” and then to feeling his heart race and jealousy surge whenever he looked at his hardworking disciple. He’d meant to raise a prized possession, so how had he fallen in love?

A Heng was stubbornly devoted, treating Ye Jin as his whole world. He cultivated tirelessly so he could protect his master, never realizing why his cultivation advanced at an astonishing rate or why he had an inexplicable sense for the dangers lurking within demonic cultivation.

There’s no shortage of dramatic face-slapping, sweet everyday moments, and mutual pining that they can barely hide. It isn’t until an ancient demon appears and A Heng unleashes the power of his soul to protect Ye Jin that he realizes he might be the Immortal Venerable who once set out to destroy the demonic path.

But so what?

Holding him close, Ye Jin speaks in a lazy yet serious tone: “I don’t care if you’re the Immortal Venerable or A Heng. You’re someone I’ll protect, and the person I’ll spend my life with.”
