The seven Heavenly Court princes consort must undergo trials of love in the mortal realm before they can become immortals. Their souls enter the world of New My Fair Princess and take the forms of seven men, including Yongqi and Erkang. Their memories are sealed, leaving only an instinctive bond with the people destined for them. To protect their beloveds, the Seven Fairies also take human forms, becoming women such as Xiao Yanzi and Ziwei. They carry spirit-stone tokens with them and obey the heavenly laws, never revealing their celestial identities.
The Evil King Yin Shi conspires with Xinrong to sow chaos. By stirring palace suspicions and secrets about people’s origins, he seeks to build resentment and destroy the foundation of the princes consort’s trials. On the Jade Emperor’s orders, the Lucky Star takes the form of a Taoist priest and repeatedly resolves crises in secret, becoming their unseen guardian.
As they face trials such as Hanxiang entering the palace and Ziwei being reunited with her family, their immortal connections gradually awaken. Yongqi, also known as Yu Ri, protects Xiao Yanzi, also known as Lu Er, with ingenious contraptions. Erkang, also known as Dong Yong, risks his life to protect Ziwei, also known as Zi Er. The jade pendants worn by Xiao Jian, also known as Liu Yixuan, and Qing'er, also known as Lan Er, draw together. At last, during the ceremony to worship Heaven, everyone regains their memories and forms the Seven-Star Demon-Slaying Formation to suppress the Evil King Yin Shi. Xinrong comes to her senses and repents.
Over the course of their trials, all seven couples end up together, and after their weddings they live lovingly by one another’s side. Ziwei, Xiao Yanzi, and Qing'er each become pregnant with twins three times. When Xiao Yanzi gives birth, auspicious clouds fill the sky and birds sing in unison. Her eldest son is named Mingye.
Years later, thanks to his wisdom and sense of responsibility, Yongqi secures his position at court and eventually becomes the supreme ruler, governing diligently and protecting his people. Liu Qing, the God of Food, builds a thriving restaurant business. Ma Erdan, also known as Ma Tianlong, and Hanxiang, also known as Qing Er, retire to the Western Regions, while the other couples find their own happy endings. Once their mortal mission is complete, the seven immortal couples return to the Heavenly Court with their children. They are all granted immortal titles, their bonds enduring for a thousand years.
