During the summer harvest of 1972, the wheat in Yangjiacun was ripe.
Yang Dashan squatted on the field ridge, his bronze face shining brightly in the sun. He carefully twisted an ear of wheat, put it between his teeth and nibbled lightly. Xiaojuan lowered her head and pursed her lips with a smile, revealing two shallow dimples: "I am willing to come." After saying that, she opened the lid of the clay pot, filled a bowl of mung bean soup and handed it over.
