The Good-for-Nothing Taoist and the Collision-Scamming Fox

The mist on Qingxuan Mountain always carries a hard-to-explain air of bustling excitement. The Taoist priests here get chased by spirits demanding repayment of their "spiritual energy debts," fox spirits love gnawing on immortals' magical artifacts as snacks, and even the old tortoises know how to haggle over "three hundred years of back-scratching."

A Zhu, the least gifted young Taoist at Qingxiao Temple, has trained for ten years and still can't even control his flying sword properly, yet somehow he can understand what spirits say. One day, a shard of jade fell from the sky and smacked him on the head. When he looked up, he saw a palm-sized silver fox happily chewing on half a piece of jade. The fox patted its paws. "Your hair fell on me and picked up my spiritual energy. Bring me three jade shards to make up for it!"

And just like that, A Zhu somehow became a "debtor," forced to scamper all over the mountain with Yinyue, a "bump-and-sue fox" who loves pretending to be a big shot. They break into a sea of Drunken Immortal Grass and get the rabbit spirits drunk, dig up warm jade and wake a thousand-year-old tortoise, and even help a lost little ghost girl with a bedtime story. Amid all the chaos, A Zhu's spiritual power quietly grows stronger, while Yinyue gradually realizes that this "good-for-nothing Taoist," whom she keeps scamming, has a heart purer than the moonlight on the mountain peak.

When cultivators from beyond the mountain attack Qingxuan Mountain, hoping to seize the core shard of its protective formation, the two finally discover that the "debt" from the beginning was a scam. But by then, the jade-chewing fox, the scapegoat Taoist, and all the spirits on the mountain have already united as one. Watch this bickering pair take on the invaders with a bunch of tipsy rabbits and a slow-moving old tortoise, turning everything upside down, and, along the way, carving each other's names into the mist of Qingxuan Mountain.
