Su Yan transmigrates to a parallel world in 2005 with a phone that can access the internet from his old world. Here, none of the works he knows exist.

He plans to quietly make a living as a copycat writer, but happens to meet a female singer in a park whose career has been ruined by rumors that she was a “homewrecker.”

On a whim, he writes her a song, Besieged on All Sides. It not only helps her escape her predicament, but also brings his name to the attention of the entire Chinese music scene.

His offhand suggestion of the “Chinese-style” genre catches the attention of countless industry heavyweights:

Later and Ten Years become hits on every street corner, while Red Ling, East Wind Breaks... reshape the musical landscape.

Meanwhile, his screenplays, A Chinese Ghost Story and Hachi: A Dog's Tale, bring countless viewers to tears;

and his book The Chrysanthemum and the Sword sends shockwaves through academia.

But music and screenplays are only the things everyone can see.

No one knows that the nationwide hits Search for Qin and Zhu Xian... and A Record of a Mortal's Journey to Immortality all come from the same person; the globally popular Dragon Ball manga is also his work.

When My Heart Will Go On tops the global charts, and his Moonlight Concerto draws the attention of the world's classical music scene, Su Yan has already quietly reached the crest of the wave.

From a chance meeting on a park bench to shaping the direction of the global entertainment industry, it all happens so naturally.

Years later, now the king of entertainment, he is asked by a reporter:

“Mr. Su Yan, what field will you conquer next?”
