Desperate Beacon
Beneath the deep sea lie rare mineral deposits powerful enough to reshape the world order, along with a shocking conspiracy that has remained unsolved for ten years. To uncover the truth behind his father's disappearance, Shen Zhiyu leads a team aboard the exploration vessel Tuo Hai and sails into a mysterious stretch of ocean known as the Sea of Death. But he walks straight into a carefully laid trap. The ship explodes, his teammates perish, and he is left as one of the few survivors alongside Lu Yao, who is burdened by the mystery of her brother's disappearance, and Zhou Lingyi, who seeks justice for her sister.
This stretch of sea, between international waters and the border of Country Z, holds not only deposits of cobalt, nickel, tungsten, and other metals essential to weapons, but also harbors a foreign secret organization codenamed Shadow. They orchestrate a series of maritime disasters, disguising the waters as a forbidden zone in a bid to monopolize the resources and develop cutting-edge weapons. From the abandoned research vessel Xingtu to the trap-filled Blackrock Lighthouse, from an artificial-island prison to the heart of an underwater vortex, the three rely on an encrypted notebook left behind by Shen's father and a mysterious compass. They decipher coded symbols, fight off the organization's assassins, and gradually uncover the secrets of the superconducting metal at the heart of the mineral deposits, as well as Shadow's “Purification Plan.”
Friend and foe are hard to tell apart, while family and truth intertwine. As a mysterious signal arrives and the lighthouse's mechanisms activate, the true face of Shadow's leader and the organization's remaining forces emerge. A deadly struggle spanning ten years and involving national resource security begins in earnest. With courage as their sail and conviction as their beacon, the three fight back against the raging waves and sinister plots, protect their country's interests with their blood and determination, and light the way to the truth through the deep-sea fog.
