In "Baishui Town", a small border town in the Central Plains, troubled times are approaching and people's livelihood is in decline. While struggling to survive, a group of teahouse little people (waiters, cooks, entertainers, down-and-out scholars, and gangsters) got involved in the whirlpool of local and court power. As the war spreads, they accidentally discover the secrets of the city and become the hope of resisting the new regime. The three volumes continuously show their survival, struggle, and growth in troubled times, from small characters to big situations. The plots are compact and humorous. Each volume is its own story and promotes the development of the main line. Finally, it ends with an unexpected peace and hope.
