My HR Career Makes No Sense

[A practical novel about feng shui and Chinese fortune-telling]

Chen Guan never imagined that the profound teachings of Wang Yangming’s doctrine of the unity of knowledge and action concealed mystical techniques for communicating with heaven and earth. Feng shui, geomancy, fate-reading, and physiognomy all become weapons in his hands.

Beneath the calm surface of campus life, undercurrents surge: a lost “Imprint of Mental Strength,” a secret water-control plan spanning the Ming and Qing dynasties, and a foreign organization that has lain low for centuries, intent on sabotaging China’s ley lines. All of them resonate with the compass in his hands.

When campus life becomes entangled in a covert struggle over the nation’s destiny, and modern business collides with ancient arts, Chen Guan realizes that the most advanced “human resources” management may be managing a people’s fortune and future.

Watch a young man wield traditional culture like a sword, cutting a path of protection through the fog of the city and history.
