Lin Xuan transmigrates to the late Northern Song Dynasty and becomes a down-on-his-luck Daoist priest amid the demon calamities of Bianjing.
With the dynasty on the verge of collapse and demons running rampant, his only companion is the Record of Demon Subjugation, a book that runs on his lifespan.
Subjugate demons and exterminate evil, record the myriad monsters! A military officer devoted to his country, an inscrutable princess, demons that devour and kill, Jurchen coveting the Central Plains, and a court filled with anxious officials and ministers all take the stage in spectacular fashion!
When demon kings occupy the imperial court and demon generals roam the battlefield, Lin Xuan holds the Record of Demon Subjugation in one hand and a sword in the other, and sighs, “This humble Daoist has no other talents, only a worthless life to his name! Today, I'll subdue and destroy every demon in this world!”
