Her Whole Family Wants Her Dead, but the Rough-Hewn Man Spoils Her Rotten

Su Wanqing was born into a family of scholars and was a properly wedded wife, but her scheming in-laws framed her and forcibly demoted her from wife to concubine. Strong-willed, she would rather die than accept such humiliation, so her in-laws callously threw her out of the family home.

As she was being forced back to her parents' home through the wind and rain, she accidentally slipped into the water and nearly drowned. Just as all hope seemed lost, a rough-hewn man with a notorious reputation, known by the locals as the “Living Yama,” pulled her from the water. He was powerfully built, with bulging muscles, ruthless in his actions, and a menacing glare that brooked no argument. Fresh from her ordeal, Su Wanqing was terrified out of her wits.

But an even greater blow soon followed: her own family refused to let her in, ashamed that she had been “sent away.” Abandoned by everyone and with nowhere left to turn, she was “bought” and taken home by that fearsome brute, who made his intentions unmistakably clear.

And so, a fallen young lady, graceful and well-mannered yet strong inside, and a wild, fearsome brute known as the Yama, were thrown together by fate and forced to live under the same roof. Their days became a chaotic, heart-fluttering cohabitation.
