Lin Wanwan thought she’d transmigrated into a Lin Daiyu-style story.

In Changsha, she’d be out of breath after every three steps, while the Nine Gates took turns offering her handkerchiefs.

Then one day, a tomb chamber collapsed, and she coughed up blood as she casually drew a talisman.

The entire ancient tomb was instantly restored, and even the corpse beetles lined up obediently.

Zhang Qiling stared at the phoenix tattoo on the back of her neck. “That’s a forbidden technique the Zhang family lost a thousand years ago.”

Xie Yuchen searched through the family records, his face turning deathly pale. “You’re my grandaunt who died a hundred years ago.”

Hei Xiazi grinned as he plucked the hairpin from her hair. “Miss, this hairpin of yours… it’s the key to opening the Bronze Gate.”

Leaning against the coffin, she gasped weakly. “C-could someone help me press my philtrum…?”

Later, the Bronze Gate opened, and ten thousand years of silence descended.

She stood before countless ghost soldiers, with all of the Nine Gates behind her.

“I forgot to tell you,” she said with a faint smile, wiping the blood from the corner of her mouth. “I didn’t come here to seek refuge. I came to guard the tomb.”
