From 1942 to 1945, during the Republic of China era, young Beiping native Qin Chuan sets out to clear his grandfather’s name after he was falsely accused of robbing an imperial tomb. Armed with the “Shanhe Maixiang” compass, he joins Lin Hu, Chen Xue, and Su Yu to form a team dedicated to protecting the ley lines. Starting from Liulichang, they travel across Beiping, Dunhuang, the South Seas, Guixu, and other places, overcoming threats such as yin fiends and nether fiends.
They uncover the secrets of the six lineages of tomb guardians and rally forces such as the Caobang and the Nether Shark Clan to fight their enemies, including the Old Kiln Gang and the Xuanmen sect, whose leader, Xuanyangzi, orchestrates the “Nethersea Blood Array.” Through quests to find fragments of ancient ley-line records and protect ley-line crystals, the team members transform, moving beyond personal obsessions to protect all living beings. At last, in Guixu, they thwart Xuanyangzi’s sacrificial ritual and activate the “Grand Ley-Line Heartguard Array” to stabilize the ley lines, embodying their mission: “In chaotic times, protecting the ley lines means preserving the everyday lives of humanity.”
