Chronicles of the Dark Waters

Mo Chen, a "medicine slave," swallowed a drop of "water" in the deadly depths of Guixu.

From that day on, the Great Wilderness lost an ordinary man whom anyone could trample, and gained a demon who devoured all things.

His family treated him as a cultivation cauldron, so he drained their geniuses and burned their nests to the ground. The immortal sects treated him as an ant, so he devoured their entire heritage and brought the demon's reign upon the world. That wisp of "Mysterious Nether True Water" from primordial times gave him the power to devour everything, but also became an incurable curse that corroded his Dao heart. Cold and calculating, he planned for every contingency, all to protect the last glimmers of light behind him.

Yet when his beloved fell and his sworn brothers sacrificed themselves, when he finally slew the strongest saint in the world, merged with the Myriad Daos, and ascended to the unreachable realm of the [Heavenly Dao]... only then did the final truth pour down like icy water.

The persecution by his family, the immortal sects' relentless pursuit, the sacrifice of his beloved, and even the devouring power he had been so proud of were all pieces in a game set up by the world's will to repair itself. Every step he had taken was fated.

"So all the struggle and vengeance in my life were nothing but... nourishment prepared for you?"

Only after reaching the summit did he see the cage. Looking down at the world's devastation, he made his final choice: he became an endless black rain, using the power that had once devoured everything to nourish all things in heaven and earth.

He once devoured the world. In the end, he became the world itself.
