[The Fourth Calamity] + [Multiple protagonists] + [Ensemble cast] + [No System] + [Multiple layers] + [Original] + [Memes]
The Backrooms are in an apocalypse. Entities are swarming.
Lin Yingchuan thought he was done for, until he met a group of “survivors” with the weirdest style imaginable.
Some shouted “Its health bar is showing!” at the Partypooper, while others used almond water as a throwing weapon.
And some tried reasoning with the Smilers: “Hey, man, drop some loot, would you?”
Most ridiculous of all, they came running back to life five minutes after dying: “Instructor, that last round doesn't count. Restart!”
Lin Yingchuan: “...What even are you?”
Players: “We're The Fourth Calamity, here to save the world! NPC, give us a quest!”
And so the most ridiculous survival guides in history came into being:
“How to Get Players to Volunteer as Cannon Fodder,” “On the Self-Cultivation of NPCs,” and “Ten Tips for Becoming a Heartless Capitalist.”
But when the players realized that this “game” felt a little too real,
and the NPCs started looking at them with increasingly complicated expressions,
a farcical war over reality and virtuality, survival and entertainment, officially began.
Will Bro come back to write? 😢 There are too few articles about the fourth natural disaster in the back room 😢
