Shen Qingci was born into a family of occultists. When he was young, his family became embroiled in an ancient pact between the living and the dead. His parents were gravely wounded by evil spirits while protecting him, leaving him able to see spirits from childhood. He became skilled in talismans and formations, and was tasked with finding a way to break the pact.
Lu Zhuo was an orphan adopted by a reclusive soul guide. He was born with pure yang fire within him, the bane of evil spirits, but its flames were so powerful that he had to suppress them regularly or they would consume him. After he once stumbled into a haunted place, Shen Qingci saved him, and they became inseparable companions from then on.
Burdened with the duty of protecting his family, Shen Qingci pursued a century-old conspiracy with a secret treasure tied to the pact. Along the way, he encountered Lu Zhuo, the unruly heir to pure yang fire. The two were brought together by fragments of the pact, and the resonance between their yin and yang powers complemented each other, making them a formidable guardian duo. With their inherited bloodlines as blades and their bond forged through life and death as shields, they used the union of yin and yang to write a passionate legend of protection.
