The story revolves around a company of recruits led by Lin Yue, from young boys who first entered the military camp to mature soldiers who have experienced the baptism of war. The contents of the four volumes respectively present training, actual combat exercises, crisis response and the final return from the war. Each volume has its own independent main line but is interlocking with each other.
