Carrying out her parents' final wish, Ying Xiaomai returns to her hometown, Haishi.
Faced with a once-familiar place transformed by tourism, she wanders into an old-fashioned shopping street in the historic district and comes upon a mysterious antique shop called Dream Depository.
The beautiful yet aloof shopkeeper, Zhizi, takes her in and offers her a seemingly ordinary job that requires her to work nights.
But when night falls, Ying Xiaomai is horrified to discover that the antiques gathering dust in the shop seem to have come alive. During a sudden night attack, an antique saves her, and she finally uncovers the secret of Dream Depository: what it keeps is not objects, but “object spirits” bearing the weight of history and regret.
Ying Xiaomai's mission is to listen to the echoes of their obsessions, seek out buried truths, soothe the wounds of time and space, and help unsettled souls find peace as they await the people truly meant to find them.
In this strange place where old and new Haishi intertwine, a journey begins, one that will restore the past and heal the present.
