The story takes place in Dongli Continent, where multiple political regimes are divided and war spreads. Li Xiaoshi was born in a small town and was accidentally involved in the army. He became teammates with the exiled doctor Qiu Yuhuan, the down-and-out ranger Zhao Bufan, and the talkative veteran Mei Afu. They worked together during the war, made humorous remarks to survive, and witnessed the complexity of human nature. As the villain general Han Tieshan pressed forward step by step, they experienced escape, revenge, family and love tests, and finally found peace and self-salvation in the chaos.
