There are two seasons, the Spring Split and the Summer Split, each made up of a regular season, playoffs, and a grand final. During the regular seasons in spring and fall each year, 16 teams compete in a round robin to determine their rankings. The playoffs use an elimination format to decide which teams advance to the grand final. The annual grand final is the season's biggest title race: the champions lift the Silver Dragon Cup, a symbol of glory, and win a prize worth tens of millions. Other events include world-class tournaments such as the World Champion Cup and the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games. The story centers on the KPL Honor of Kings Professional League, whose official tournament phone is the iQOO. The timeline begins in 2022 and continues to the present, with real-world esports clubs unchanged before the players transfer. The original male lead, Du Shengxi, is 19 and goes by the ID Yunyu. He knows a little about medicine, plays on the same team as Huang Yaoqin, and is selected first overall in the draft. Huang Yaoqin's team, Qingrong's, buys him for a price based on the real draft. His main role is support, though he can also play jungle. The story will cover the bidding process at the draft, and he and Huang Yaoqin, also known as Qingrong, have been childhood friends. They share a dorm room, and Du Shengxi has bought his own house.
