Thorn Town, shrouded in eternal night fog, is an isolated island purgatory on the northern border. Swamp monsters kidnapped people late at night, thorns and vines entangled their flesh and blood, and the missing people suffered a series of misfortunes, leaving only strange sacrificial cards and a pungent smell. The townspeople believe in the mysterious goddess of thorns, and everyone hides ulterior secrets. In the closed town, suspicion and fear are more deadly than monsters.
The suspension bridge was broken, the escape route was blocked, and Thorn Town became a death cage isolated from the outside world. Geralt stepped into the fog to track down the commission, but was deeply involved in a series of mysterious cases: bizarre suicides caused by visions, fatal injuries without wounds, and recurring death scenes. Each case revealed the strangeness of the supernatural and the darkness of human nature. The demon hunter's keen senses become the only "criminal investigation weapon". Following the clues of fog marks, silt and lies, he gradually approaches the truth behind the curse.
The shadow of the Dark Eye Sect is spreading quietly, the fear contract harvests souls, and the ancient seal is on the verge of being broken. When the deformed swamp monster encounters the evil of the human heart, and when the obsession for revenge intertwines with the conspiracy of the sect, Geralt must not only slay the monster with his sword, but also uncover layers of puzzles. In this game of "visible monsters are less evil than human hearts", he will eventually discover that the curse of Thorn Town has never been a supernatural gift, but the evil consequences of human nature's original sin.
The fog persists and murderous intent lurks everywhere. Can the demon hunter break through the double shackles of fog and conspiracy and let the truth be revealed?
