When I read Dream of the Red Chamber as a child, I only cried for Bao and Dai: I cried when Daiyu buried the flowers, and when Bao and Dai loved each other but couldn't be together. As I grew up, however, I came to feel deep sympathy and lingering regret for Xiangling, a woman whose fate was full of hardship, yet who remained steadfast. Xiangling's “what if” has touched the hearts of many readers. So I want to give her a pretty good life.
