The story takes place in Fruit Town on the Planet of Emotions, home to countless Fruit Cuties. Fruit Town is divided into four seasons, each protected by one of four guardian Cuties: Apple Cutie, Watermelon Cutie, Banana Cutie, and Avocado Cutie. One day, the Dark King, who had been hiding in Fruit Town, suddenly took control of Avocado Cutie's mind. The Dark King made Avocado Cutie steal the magic stones that guarded the town through all four seasons. Avocado Cutie's clones stole the stones, causing the mysterious fruit magic to disappear. A black storm swept over Fruit Town, sucking the Fruit Cuties into a black hole and transporting them to Shani Town on Earth. The royal Cuties, Apple Cutie, Watermelon Cutie, and Banana Cutie, came to Earth to seek Princess Le Mei's help. Once Le Mei learned what had happened, she and the Heart Cuties and the new royal Cuties set off on an adventure to capture the Fruit Cuties and restore the magic of Fruit Town across all four seasons.
