Synopsis
In a world where immortals and demons coexist and cause and effect are intertwined, Qingheng, a genius alchemist of the Qingyun Sect, loves nothing more than crunching the numbers. With his abacus, he can calculate the cost of anything, and a single pill can determine life or death, profit or loss. That is, until he meets A Lian, a mysterious woman who is emotionally detached and knows only how to purify turbid energy, and the little creature that suddenly appears at her side.
Xiao Yu is the spirit of the ancient divine sword “Autumn Water Without a Trace.” She has regressed into a tiny, three-heads-tall girl with eyes like black crystal. Innocent and greedy, she can discern good from evil and cut through anything. The moment she appears, she takes precise aim at the sorest spot in Qingheng’s heart: his pouch of spirit stones.
From then on, Qingheng’s books are a complete mess
“Nine-Turn Soul-Congealing Pill: cost three hundred premium spirit stones. She chewed it up like candy. A huge loss!”
“Star Candy, a priceless delicacy exclusive to the Celestial Realm… Oh, never mind. She looks so happy. I’ll count it as an ‘emotional investment.’”
“It's over. No matter how I calculate it, this little ancestor is the most priceless asset of my life, and the loss I’m most willing to take.”
A Lian’s long-sealed emotions warm for the first time because of this little sword spirit. The Celestial Realm’s Water God, Danshui, comes down to the mortal world and makes his first stop to bring her candy. Even Cheng Yu, the coldest and most solitary chief disciple of the Heavenly Sword Pavilion, shows her tenderness alone, teaching her how to nourish her sword soul.
Yet darkness is quietly spreading. As netherworld turbid energy returns, A Lian’s memories awaken and her emotional tribulation begins…
Qingheng faces his final choice: keep calculating her “value for money,” or take a priceless gamble against fate for her, for all of them?
