I’m a Matchmaker, Yet I’m Causing Trouble in Heaven

Song Jinhe, a red-string immortal at the Temple of the Matchmaker in the Heavenly Court, draws the easiest salary and does the most “outrageous” work.

Everyone thinks she's a laid-back immortal whose job is just to tie a few red strings, but no one knows that this immortal has the Three Pure Ones backing her. Her magic is unfathomably powerful, and she's a free spirit who does whatever she pleases. Neither the heavenly soldiers nor the generals can control her, and even the Supreme Lord Lao can only sigh in exasperation.

Nezha hates Li Jing to the core? Song Jinhe gives him a sachet to help him put his troubled past behind him. The Weaver Girl is sick of the Cowherd's advances? She gives her a red cord to help her cut ties for good. She meant to idle away her days in the Heavenly Court, enjoying the show, but a few casual favors she did set off a chain reaction, like falling dominoes.

When Chenxiang splits open a mountain to save his mother, she watches the spectacle with relish and casually offers a few pointers, leaving Erlang Shen with a headache. The aftermath of the Great Sage Equal to Heaven's havoc in the Heavenly Palace has barely settled when she goes up to the cheeky monkey and calls him her sworn brother, making the Heavenly Court even more unsettled.

As one incident after another unfolds, not only are the secrets of gods from every corner exposed, but even the long-buried stories of the Three Pure Ones are gradually brought to light before all the immortals, tugged into view by her “red string.”

Song Jinhe holds the red cord and tilts her head with a smile. “Tying love knots is so boring. Why not tug at the currents of the Heavenly Court instead?”

This is the carefree tale of an apparently minor immortal official who stirs up the Three Realms and, along the way, uncovers the stories behind the gods and Buddhas across the heavens.
