I Begged the Gods to Give You to Me

I command the prayers of all humanity. As the last goddess, I have spent a thousand years in the Buddha hall, my heart like crystal, untouched by any ripple.

Then I met a man named Yan Chi. In his mortal body, he prostrated himself before the Buddha a thousand times, asking for nothing but two words: Qing Li.

He begged me to lower my gaze, to let my heart be moved, to break my divine bones and abandon my godhood so I could be his ordinary mortal lover.

I told him mortals and gods were on different paths. He said he would defy heaven anyway.
