Tales of the Tang Dynasty: The Dragon Abyss Calamity

[Blood Moon Reflections, the Corpse Whispers of the Grand Canal, the Butterfly Transformation in the City of Gu, Dunhuang's Phantom Play, the Celestial Pivot atop Chang'an]

During the Jingyun era, under the prosperity of the age, undercurrents were stirring. Su Wuming, Lu Lingfeng, and their companions returned to the Eastern Capital, only to become entangled in a series of inexplicable cases: the smiling faces of the dead appeared in mirrors; a ghost ship with no survivors drifted along the Grand Canal; a strange plague spread through Shu, turning people into butterflies; the murals of Dunhuang moved eerily in the dead of night; and, at last, the celestial chart atop Chang'an's towering building began to spin strangely. Behind every bizarre case lay the same mysterious symbol. As the five-person investigation team picked through the layers of mist, they gradually realized that every strange phenomenon was connected, all pointing to a shocking conspiracy years in the making, one capable of toppling the very foundations of the Tang dynasty. The mastermind they were pursuing might be hiding in the most unexpected place, where the lights grow sparse.
