An imaginary historical dynasty - "Daliang", is similar to ancient China, but incorporates some mythological elements. Three hundred years after the founding of the Liang Dynasty, the literary style was prosperous, but the military virtues were in decline. There were powerful enemies coveting the country outside, aristocratic families entrenched themselves inside, and people's livelihood was in decline. The imperial court set up a "Heaven and Human Prison" to study heavenly phenomena, and the records about "visitors from other worlds" were sealed up. The imperial examination system is the only way to rise, but it is controlled by aristocratic families, making it difficult for ordinary children from poor families to get ahead.
