Any Novels Where the Female Lead Goes to Prison???

I want a story where she actually goes to prison. Not one that merely mentions she's been in prison without showing what happened there. A story about someone who's just been released is fine too. The writing should be solid and hold up to scrutiny, not melodramatic. Ideally, it should have a bad ending!!! And definitely no stories about an overpowered female lead. Just ordinary people living ordinary lives.
