In the smoky Qingshiban Alley, there is a small wood carving shop called "Wood Language Time". The owner, Lu Shiyan, is a young inheritor of intangible cultural heritage wood carvings. He is skilled in craftsmanship but has a reserved personality. He always likes to "dialogue" with wood in the afternoon sunshine while holding a carving knife. Picture book author Su Xiaotang moved to an alley in search of creative inspiration. An accidental shelter from the rain led her to break into this small shop full of woody fragrance. Lu Shiyan's smart wood carvings of small animals instantly hit Su Xiaotang's picture book creation bottleneck; and Su Xiaotang's casually drawn small illustrations with a warm smile also added a splash of color to Lu Shiyan's silent world. After that, Su Xiaotang often came to the shop to "check in" and watch Lu Shiyan make wood carvings. Lu Shiyan also became the prototype of the "mysterious male protagonist" in her picture books. Together they carved a nest for stray cats and conceived a story together under the old locust tree. In the texture of the wood and the color of the brush, the two hearts slowly came closer, turning ordinary days into a love story sweeter than a picture book.
