Xuan Gu Fanfic: Dream of the Canopy, the Canopy of Dreams

Xuan Gu, Shang Qing | Cultivation | Where the Huagai Returns, We Walk Side by Side A revised ending to replace the tragic conclusion Few fights early on; plenty of battles and treasure hunts later Xuan Gu was trapped on Luo Island for four hundred years, his old dreams of Huagai ground to dust. Then Shang Qing transmigrated, her faint spiritual radiance piercing the abyss of Yin Fiend solitude. Yin Fiend energy gathered at his fingertips, his gaze chilling to the bone. “Even if my person has her flaws, no one else gets to criticize her.” Who could have guessed? The Nascent Soul powerhouse of the Chaotic Star Sea is ruthless and unhinged to everyone else, yet spoils Shang Qing to the extreme. He builds her a swing from white bones, spends all night crafting clothes that adapt to her needs, and drops his disguise to protect her from every danger and hardship. “You’re the only one who dares order me around. Anyone else would have ended up as a refined puppet long ago.” Every day together is filled with tenderness. “You cunning girl, you’re always so good at sweet-talking.” When he sees her getting annoyed, he offers her a little trinket. “Hmm? Are you angry already? Here, Shang Qing, this is for you.” [Highlights] Unhinged powerhouse × heroine who grows stronger Mutual companionship, no melodramatic conflicts, super sweet ⚠️ [Read This First: Content Notes and Setting] 1. There are many author-invented details and the story doesn't follow strict logic. It combines cultivation with a self-insert romance, so proceed with caution if that's not your thing. 2. The heroine doesn't lie flat; she has a clear growth arc and plenty of her own story. 3. The System only helps her transmigrate from the start, then falls asleep and doesn't steal the spotlight. 4. Xuan Gu is a demonic cultivator early on, then becomes a ghost cultivator later to fit the animated series' setting. 5. The romance is a slow burn, with both sides testing the waters and growing closer over time. There's no forced love at first sight. 6. Han Li isn't vilified. The author admires him, and the heroine gets along well with him. 7. The plot prioritizes the romance and the heroine's growth, while avoiding situations where she is destined to die. If you've stumbled across this by chance, don't worry, you're in good hands.
