In the changing and troubled times, the six protagonists are intertwined across four places. There are bloody wars, tolerance and humor. Warlords compete for supremacy, civilians are in exile, spies run rampant, theater troupes move around, and humor embellishes survival, revenge, redemption, and growth. Each character protects their small ideals in the flames of war. Through their own clues, they finally gather together to subvert fate and usher in the peace that the people expect. The book has a tight rhythm and ups and downs in the plot. The four volumes of stories are both independent chapters and linked to each other. Finally, it ends with humorous self-deprecation and bitter growth.
