Everyone at Xinghai University knows Tan Leyou, the dance department's so-called tomboy, and how openly she adores Cui Jiahao, the campus heartthrob from the architecture department. Her crush has become the most conspicuous sight on campus. She keeps her hair short and neat, and usually wears practice clothes and dance shoes to rehearsal. Cheerful and straightforward, she smiles to reveal tiny tiger teeth, full of life and passion. She pursues him with unreserved directness: after practice, still drenched in sweat, she waits outside the architecture building to offer him water and confess; during a campus basketball game, she comes off the bench, scores, then flashes him a gesture that says “victory and confession”; and to deliver competition materials, she races across campus in her dance shoes. A sticky note reading “Cui Jiahao is the most handsome” once appeared on the dance studio mirror. Her teammates all know about her pursuit, and even her teachers joke that her enthusiasm for chasing him rivals her dedication to dancing and volleyball. Nobody thinks the two, so different in every way, have a chance, but Cui Jiahao has already fallen for her in secret. He remembers which soda she likes and gets anxious when she injures herself dancing. This campus-wide, openly declared crush is warming into a romance they both feel.
