In the smoke of the Battle of Costa Rica, the young second lieutenant Wolfgang Arndt experienced the shock of the first battle and the sacrifice of his comrades. In the spring of 1940, he was ordered to reorganize the crew and ushered in new partners: the calm Bavarian driver Max, the precise and cold gunner Karl, the pragmatic and careful loader Hans, and the enthusiastic Berlin boy and radio operator Erich. These five Wall warriors with different backgrounds were locked in the same tank by fate. They were not born brothers, but they forged a silent tacit understanding in the steel and gunpowder smoke. Together they overcame the dust of the Western European War, then participated in the broader and more cruel Eastern battlefield, and finally returned to the Western European battlefield to defend their homeland and country. They supported each other and miraculously reached the end of the war together.
