Good Grief! This Film Emperor Has Fallen from Grace Yet Again

First the rising star falls, then the top-tier star, and after that the film emperor. Ten years into his career, Xu Mingfei is hailed as the entertainment industry’s number-one jinx, with a knack for stepping on every landmine involving a disgraced celebrity. Artists who work with him either get embroiled in scandals or banned from the industry. Many stars avoid him like the plague. Yang Mi: “He’s a walking jinx. One time, his ‘Where’s my husband?’ almost got me caught up in a scandal.” Li Xiaolu: “Believe me, I really was just getting my hair done. Please don’t get the wrong idea!” A certain film emperor breaks down in tears at a press conference: “I’m sorry, I was wrong. I will leave the entertainment industry for good!” Xu Mingfei, quietly blacklisted by an entertainment company: “Leave the industry? What are you talking about? I’m not leaving. I’m staying right here!” Netizens: “Nobody understands disgraced celebrities better than him. He hates them most of all.” “On the surface, he’s a celebrity. In reality, he’s undercover.” “Once all the top-tier stars have fallen from grace, he’ll be the top-tier star.”
