Wolf Smoke Over the Nine Heavens

Handcrafted, powerful leads, BL, ancient-era political intrigue and martial arts, competition for supremacy, twists, justice, and unification

“My family was wiped out, and I went from a young nobleman to a lowly commoner. Everyone wanted to kick me while I was down. Then I met Xuan Ling, that inexplicable man.”

He rescued me from the gutter, taught me the art of political scheming, helped me rise to power, and stood by me as I slaughtered my enemies.

I willingly slaughtered countless people for him, paving his road to heaven with a mountain of bones.

Everyone said he was the man who had given me a new lease on life.

Only I knew he kept me by his side because of the destiny he found so fascinating in me.

That didn't matter. If he wanted to stir up this realm, I would seize its vast lands for him.

He probably never realized, or perhaps simply didn't care about, the filthy possessiveness in my heart.

Until our army stood at the gates of the imperial capital, with the throne and imperial robes within our reach.

At last, I couldn't hold back the dark desire buried in my heart. I watched his startled eyes and finally voiced the delusion I'd kept hidden for ten years: “I've won this throne. Will you sit on it with me?”

He remained cold. “This play has been perfect, but it's about to end.”

He had already found a way to sever his ties to the mortal world. Just as he was about to abandon me for good, I tried desperately to stop him, heedless of everything.

I thought I had beaten him to it. I forced an even more potent poison past his unwary lips, thinking that then he wouldn't leave.

“Either we live together... or we die together.”

But he wasn't afraid of death. He saved me again. The battle was fierce, and I couldn't bring myself to let go.

In that battle, amid ruins and blood, my god left. He left me forever.
