I Just Want to Keep a Low Profile and Enjoy Retirement, but You Keep Forcing Me to Top the Imperial Exams

My name is Lin Xian, courtesy name Gouzhi. After transmigrating as an old examination candidate, all I wanted was to lie flat. But after they kept pushing me, I decided I was done putting up with them!

They laugh at my lack of credentials? I speedrun the exams, blazing through the levels from licentiate to provincial graduate to jinshi!

The beauties think I’m too old? Every time my scholarship advances a level, I get five years younger! I go from grandpa’s generation straight back to a young heartthrob!

Corrupt officials and their cronies try to obstruct me? I can’t be bothered with them. I rise straight from a low-ranking seventh-grade official to a first-rank duke, and all those status-hungry officials come crawling to curry favor and beg for mercy!

The old fossils criticize my writing style? I casually say, “Let’s start with a small goal,” and it becomes a masterpiece for the ages!

I only wanted to coast until retirement, but you all kept coming after me.

Before I knew it, they were hailing me as the greatest chancellor in history, while the people begged to enshrine me as the literary star who protects the nation.

Now I sit atop Kunlun, gazing down at the prosperous age I created.

Sigh, is this retirement life just a little too exciting?
