[A heads-up: The heroine grows over time, romance plays a smaller role, and the story features a large ensemble cast.
The male lead has one soul with two consciousnesses: Duyáo and Baicha.
After falling in love at first sight, he becomes a devoted, loyal guardian.]
Zhan Jingque thinks she has had the worst luck in the world.
She was sent to study cultivation at the age of five.
At seven, she lost both her parents.
She studied spiritual cultivation, and her meridians backfired.
She studied alchemy and got poisoned.
She studied swordsmanship and stabbed herself until she was covered in wounds.
She studied talisman-making and didn’t manage to draw a usable one until she’d bled herself dry. Then it blew up in her face.
So she worked diligently in Corpse Valley for eleven years, gutting beasts,
with no friends and everyone hating her.
When she decided to quit and return to the mortal world, she discovered that the reason her life had been so miserable was a script from the immortal realm.
She was actually the reincarnation of a High God.
Her tribulation was over, they said, and it was time for her divine soul to return and take over her body.
Zhan Jingque was furious.
Why should she have to suffer in someone else’s place just because of some so-called tribulation?
She had endured all the hardship, suffered all the indignities, and gone through all the despair. Then they were going to take her memories and body, turning her into a tale of love and hatred between divine lords?
Didn’t they love going through tribulations?
Well, since they had come down here, none of them were going back.

He was a new god in an old world, sent to work in a new one, but the ship was swallowed by a giant fish, leaving him unconscious for months.
Luckily, he was rescued, but the bold little girl went and stripped the bark right off him!
What could that mean?
The Weaver Girl married the Cowherd after he took her clothes. Chenxiang and Xiaoyu got together after he tricked her out of hers.
So if he and she…
Once he got back, he’d go through the proper channels with the Matchmaker and report everything to the Queen Mother of the West.
From now on, he’d have a partner too
