In the late Tang dynasty, Zhu Wen usurps the throne and massacres the imperial clan and court officials. During her escape, the last princess, Li Su, is unexpectedly transmigrated to the 21st century because of her family's heirloom jade pendant. There she meets the male lead, Wang Xi, an archaeology intern. During an excavation, Wang Xi sees a portrait of the princess in the tomb of Li Su's childhood sweetheart, Xiao Feng, and feels an inexplicable connection. Unbeknownst to him, Wang Xi is Xiao Feng reincarnated. After a thousand years, the two are finally reunited in the 21st century.
