Back in the Past as the Mountain King

After transmigrating to Kaoshan Tun in the 1960s, Yuan Yiyi decides to put down roots there. He expects nothing but bitter cold, barren land, and wild beasts, but instead finds warmth in Li Laojue and the Wang Dashan family, who treat him like one of their own.

He drives off wolf packs, hunts wild boars, and outsmarts con artists, becoming the backbone of the village. He writes New Year couplets, enjoys pork-killing feasts, and chats beside the heated brick bed, finding a sense of belonging amid the everyday bustle.

Life should have stayed so peaceful and fulfilling, until Luo Mingxi arrives. The young woman has run away from home to teach in the village, and she shines like a ray of light into his long-closed heart. Under the same roof, through small acts of care over meals and through trials that test them to the brink of death, their hearts slowly draw closer amid the snow and wind of Kaoshan Tun.

This is a heartwarming story about putting down roots, protecting loved ones, and growing up. See how Yuan Yiyi goes from a stranger in a strange land to a true son of Kaoshan Tun, and finds a love that transcends eras.
