1945: Unrequited Love in Troubled Times

In 1945, after years of war, the land of China was in the darkness before dawn. The Japanese imperialist aggression is coming to an end, but the domestic situation is still turbulent and undercurrents are surging from all sides. The story takes place in Lin'an City, an ancient city with a history of thousands of years in the south of the Yangtze River. Although this city is on the verge of war, it has inevitably suffered the baptism of war. The once bustling streets are now dilapidated, and the people are struggling to survive in fear and hunger. There are two major forces in the city. One is the patriotic and progressive Chamber of Commerce, which secretly supports the anti-Japanese forces and provides materials and intelligence for the war of resistance; the other is the warlord forces who collude with the Japanese invaders and are willing to betray the country and the people for personal gain. Su Wan, the daughter of the president of the Chamber of Commerce, is beautiful, kind-hearted and has a patriotic heart. She actively participated in the anti-Japanese activities of the Chamber of Commerce. Shen Yi, the son of the warlord, appears to be a cynical young man, but in fact he is an underground party lurking within the warlord, and he endures hardships in order to obtain important information. Su Wan and Shen Yi fell in love with each other during a chance encounter, but their identities were like a huge gap between them. The contradiction between the Chamber of Commerce and the warlords is becoming increasingly acute, and the struggle between the two sides is about to break out. Su Wan's father firmly opposed her association with Shen Yi, believing that he was an accomplice of the warlord; and Shen Yi was unable to confess everything to Su Wan because of his special status. In this troubled world, their love is facing many tests. Whether they will stick to this deep love in the torrent of the times, or be swallowed up by the cruel reality, everything is still unknown.
