The play tells the story of Fang Meng Ao (played by Liu Ye), an underground member of the Communist Party of China who was lurking in the Kuomintang Air Force in 1948. In order to peacefully liberate Peiping, he made difficult choices at the critical moment for the happiness and tranquility of the people.
