Scorching Sunlight

After an unexpected encounter, the school bully Jiang Yao became my “personal knight.”

He boldly put himself between me and danger, and filled my everyday life with clumsy tenderness, treating me so well that I was afraid to wonder, “Why me?”

His overwhelming affection was so much to bear that I could hardly breathe, so I planned a childish test to see how he would react:

I deliberately got close to other guys, creating the illusion of a flirtation. I wanted to make him jealous, but even more, I wanted to know if his feelings were unwavering.

But when he gripped my wrist, eyes red, and could only ask cautiously, “Am I moving too fast?” I suddenly fell apart. I realized I wasn't afraid of how good he was to me. I was afraid I didn't deserve such wholehearted passion.
