Luxury RV, Beautiful Fishing Buddies: Notes on Catching Monster Fish in the Wild

Night deepened. The camping light beside the RV glowed a warm yellow, illuminating the three figures focused on their task. The lake was calm, and the only sound was the occasional faint swish of a fishing line through the air. Miao Xiaotong leaned against the RV railing, her eyes fixed on the float. Suddenly, it jerked sharply, then was yanked underwater by a tremendous force. The fishing rod instantly bent into a crescent, giving off a low, humming buzz!

“Got one!” Miao Xiaotong's eyes sharpened. She gripped the rod with both hands and leaned back, bracing her abdomen as she fought the brute force beneath the water. The line pulled taut, and a huge shadow emerged faintly below the surface, churning up muddy waves.

“Damn, that's strong!” Li Zimeng dropped her own rod and rushed over to help steady the butt. “Is it a black carp or a catfish?”

“Don't let go!” Veins bulged at Miao Xiaotong's temples. “With that kind of strength, it has to weigh at least fifty pounds!”

Du Jingjing hurried over too, deftly switching on the electric winch on the side of the RV and connecting its cable to the rod. “Use the winch to help. Don't try to muscle it!”

The three worked together as the winch slowly reeled in the line. The massive creature below refused to give in, repeatedly diving toward deeper water and splashing all three of them. Li Zimeng held the rod holder down, her cheeks flushed with effort. Du Jingjing kept her eyes on the lake, ready to adjust the winch speed at any moment. Miao Xiaotong, meanwhile, gauged the fish's movements precisely, sometimes letting out line to ease the strain, sometimes reeling it in hard. Every move brimmed with strength.

“It's almost at the surface!” Du Jingjing suddenly shouted.
