Synopsis
Ying Che, a brilliant modern history student, accidentally transmigrates into the son of a marginalized Qin hostage in the final years of the Warring States period. The moment he opens his eyes, he faces execution. At this critical moment, the Great Qin Fortune System successfully binds to him. He escapes death by sharing crucial intelligence about the Battle of Changping, catches the eye of the young Ying Zheng, and sets out on a path to help an emperor unite the realm.
From capturing Lao Ai at an imperial birthday banquet and purging Lü Buwei from court to helping Ying Zheng take power; from marching east through Hangu Pass to destroy the Three Jin states, to campaigning south against the Baiyue and north against the Xiongnu, then expanding westward to open the Silk Road and connect with the Western Regions, Ying Che uses the System and his far-ahead-of-his-time wisdom to sweep aside political enemies and formidable rivals from the six states.
He revises Qin law to reduce forced labor, promotes improved farming tools to stabilize livelihoods, and establishes commanderies and counties to strengthen governance. He is both a decisive, battle-hardened general and a builder laying the foundations for a golden age, with the people at heart. Faced with crisis after crisis, from the treacherous Zhao Gao and the Xiang clan's rebellion to criticism from the royal family, he and Ying Zheng understand and trust one another as ruler and minister, joining forces to resolve threats at home and abroad. In the end, he helps Great Qin complete its unification and usher in a century of prosperity, with vast borders and open Silk Road routes.
As the Xianyang Palace blazes with light and caravans stream along the Silk Road, Ying Che gazes upon the Qin realm he helped build. His transmigration has not been in vain, nor has he failed the trust his ruler placed in him.
