Officialdom: My Road to the Top

Lin Feng is a grassroots government clerk who wants nothing more than a quiet, stable life. But his exceptional ability to draft official documents catches the attention of his superiors, and through a twist of fate, he becomes the new Party secretary’s secretary.

Faced with the demands of an unfamiliar role, he has no choice but to learn and grow quickly. Under the secretary’s careful guidance, he gradually grasps the true meaning of public service and reveals a unique talent for grassroots governance. By chance, his professional skills help resolve several pressing problems affecting people’s livelihoods. He earns the public’s approval and the respect of his colleagues.

And so, this young man who once wanted only an ordinary life advances step by step, with the organization’s support and the public’s hopes behind him, from secretary to deputy county head and then county head in charge of an entire region. Every position brings new challenges, and every step forward takes sweat and effort.

“I never actually meant to get this far.” Lin Feng always says this modestly when he is promoted. But those who know him understand that it is his reverence for his responsibilities and his sincerity toward the people that make him ever more resolute on the path of public service.
