The rain is pouring heavily and the night is dark.
On the post road three miles outside the capital, mud and water flowed across the road, and the horses' hooves splashed through the muddy waves.
Several canopy-covered carriages were parked under the eaves of the ruined temple, and young men in brocade clothes were leaning against the door, drinking and talking and laughing. The sound of silk and bamboo mixed with the sound of rain drifted in the wind.
"I heard that there are students from poor families who want to get lucky this year?" A noble prince sneered, "The Royal Academy only accepts nobles and descendants of noble families and direct descendants of aristocratic families. They can't even touch the threshold."
"They're just ants here to make up for the loss." Another person shook his folding fan lightly, "How can a few poor people get involved in the future that my father and brother fought so hard for?"
The laughter was harsh and entered the temple with the rain.
