Because their first "scientific ghost hunt" accidentally accessed the underworld's internal network and downloaded part of the book of life and death, Dalang and Xiaopang were forced to sign a "ghost crossing agent" contract with the underworld, responsible for handling some "gray area" supernatural events in the world that were inconvenient for the underworld officials to come forward. They used "merit points" to offset their "illegal operations" arrears and exchange for rewards. Thus, the two living treasures embarked on hilarious adventures in which they solved supernatural problems in outrageous ways!
