In the final weeks of my pregnancy, my water broke. My husband's assistant happened to step in the puddle and slip.
"Ah! Brother Yan, it hurts! Sister-in-law wet herself and ruined my new skirt, and she made me fall!"
My husband, Gu Yan, helped his assistant up, then shoved me into the bloody fluid from my contractions.
"Jiang Lai, you can't even control your bladder, and now you've hurt Xiaoxiao! Get on your knees and apologize to her at once!"
I curled up on the floor in agony. "Gu Yan, I can't control it! The baby is coming..."
Gu Yan's eyes turned cold. "You're only eight months pregnant. Don't put on an act!"
My abdomen cramped terribly, and blood kept flowing beneath me. He had even forgotten how many months pregnant I was.
Gu Yan sneered and opened a livestream. "You like putting on a show, don't you? I'll make you a star today!"
"Jiang Lai, I'm warning you: if you deliberately hold that baby in, I'll shove it right back inside!"
The viewers in the livestream frantically placed bets on how many minutes it would take me to kneel and beg for mercy.
I wanted to bow my head, apologize, and beg, but I couldn't move at all.
At the point of despair, a message popped up on my phone. It was from my childhood sweetheart, an astronaut who had been out of touch for five years and was born impotent:
[Don't be afraid! I'm on my way back to Earth. I'll protect you and the baby, and make everyone who hurt you pay!]
I love watching pregnant ones.
