Someone reborn can use their knowledge of the future to seize opportunities: for example, stockpiling food during the famine years (within reason, without going overboard), starting a private business after the reform and opening-up period begins (in line with policy trends), or mastering the art of cooking and becoming a renowned chef (suited to Sha Zhu's original profession). The romance should also be adjusted. In the original, Sha Zhu and Qin Huairu's relationship is full of push and pull. After being reborn, he could see Qin Huairu for who she really is and choose a partner who suits him better and shares his values. She doesn't have to be a character from the original story; she could be an original, independent, kind woman who doesn't rely on others, such as a factory worker or the daughter of a neighbor. That would make for a healthier romance.
