(There is a female lead, but she isn't human. The spirits appear after a dozen or so chapters, and each one introduced later has its own distinct traits. The author's style leans a little toward the hot-blooded.)
In the cyberworld, the invention of artificial muscle technology in 1991 sent the world down a radically different path.
By 2076, after decades of development, people modified with cybernetic implants, known as cyberpunks, had spread across the world.
They replaced their bodies with cybernetics, trading away more and more of their humanity in exchange for power.
Yet even so, power, status, wealth, and even the world itself remained divided among one corporation after another, each perched high above the rest.
Still, people never stopped resisting the powers that be.
And there is a place where the characteristics of countries from all over the world converge. It became the center of the world, and the one place cyberpunks must pass through to seize power and status and climb to the very top!

The story begins with a young android whom Jackie Welles found in the ruins and took in.
During the Arasaka Corporation's excavation of the Old Net, they unearthed a technology that defied the laws of physics and could not be controlled. This boy was born as a result.
And as a result, he gained many abilities that had seemed to exist only in the realm of imagination.
But one thing is certain:
He will become the key to changing the world,
and one day, a living legend of this city!
